Welcome to the IBEW Local 2166

IBEW Local 2166As union members, we bargain collectively with our employers over wages, benefits, and rights.

We have the best chance of receiving better wages, benefits and fair treatment in the workplace by bargaining collectively as a union. Most of us have very limited bargaining power as one person, but as a group, we are strong. And, with a good negotiated contract, we have legal protections we would not have otherwise.

Local 2166 of the IBEW were granted a charter on December 1st, 1964.  We were instrumental in several large and small projects over the years including the construction of the Mactaquac Dam, Belledune Power Plant, A1 and A2 projects on the Miramichi, Project 80 at the Dalhousie Pulp Mill, Fraser Mill in Edmundston, Millbank and St. Rose gas plants.
